The new electronic age nowadays has become the main factor why most people are becoming physically not active. One root-cause of this is that many people invest longer hours in front of the computers and television doing work along with other leisure activities. Children on the other hand are also becoming inactive because they preferred to watch television and play online video games instead of playing outside. This is one reason why many people are getting fatter.

Another factor that can add up weight gain is the amount of food consumption especially coming from fast food chains. Families are usually busy and have a very hectic schedule that's why fast food was developed to give a hassle-free and fast access. In this case, fast food consumption is increasing and even caused the increase of tummy fat.

Fat in the stomach area is among the hardest part of the body to lose unwanted fat. The bad news is that, people tend to increase belly fat as they are aging. For younger people, they also gain weight but not specifically in the belly region but rather to their legs and backsides. People should consider losing weight as soon as possible to prevent from a long term health effects caused by excess weight.

Chronic Obtrusive Pulmonary Disease is among the largest causes of death in the United States. This disease is mostly resulting from the amount of stomach fat an individual has. This disease blocks the absorption of oxygen in the air sacs of lungs which is very damaging to people and in fact fatal in many instances. For this reason, losing belly fat is very important to reducing one's possibilities of acquiring this harmful illness.

Belly fat is not only harmful to the lungs, but also to your heart. Individuals with more belly fat have an increased risk of cardiovascular failure. This does not mean the heart stops working, but it cannot work hard enough to pump blood through the entire body. In order to prevent heart failure, many campaigns (both medical and natural) have been developed towards losing belly fat.
